Thomas David Robbins was born June 26, 1947 in Madison County, Iowa, the son of Charles "Chod" Robbins and Mary (Boatwright) Robbins.
Tom was raised in Madison County and then moved with the family to Warren County where he graduated in 1965 from Norwalk High School and was crowned the Norwalk High School Homecoming King. He was united in marriage to Linda Raver on May 4, 1968 in Des Moines and to that union, welcomed a daughter, Tammi Jo and a son, Joshua James.
Tom worked construction for the Laborers Union Local 177 his whole life, where he built many downtown Des Moines buildings. Due to some health issues, he was forced to retire in 1999 and then made his full time career as "Grandpa".
He was passionate about his family (especially those grandkids), being outdoors in the nature and hunting and fishing. Tom was always in attendance to his kids and grandkids sports and school activities, until his health issues made that difficult.
