Charles Paul Kading was born December 20, 1944 in Des Moines, Iowa the son of Paul M. Kading and Agnes G. (Carroll) Kading.

Charles graduated from Pleasantville High School with the Class of 1963. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Pope and the couple made their home on a farm north of Melcher-Dallas. In addition to farming, Charles had worked for R&R Equipment and Farm & Home, both in Knoxville.

In his spare time, Charles enjoyed being outside, mowing or working on the farm. He was a quiet man of faith who dedicated his life to all his family. Always available when needed, Charles humbly and gratefully finished raising his 5 children following Mary Ann’s untimely death in 1995.

Charles passed away Friday, July 24, 2026 at MercyOne Medical Center, in Des Moines, at the age of 81 years.

In addition to his parents, Paul and Agnes, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann and two sisters: Mary Ellen Kading and Kay Terpstra.

Those left to honor Charles’ legacy include his children: John Kennedy, Paul Kading, D.J. Kading, Teresa Van Voorst and Heather Sneller; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Judy (Will) Becker and many other family members and friends.
