John Charles Provenzano was born July 26, 1991 in Pella, Iowa the son of Roy F. and Barbara J. (Yearous) Provenzano.
John was raised in the Knoxville/Pershing, Iowa area. During high school he participated in FFA and shot put. John graduated from Knoxville High School with the Class of 2010. Following high school, he attended DMACC and graduated from William Penn University with a degree in digital communications. His first job after college was as a camera operator for Prairie Meadows. He then worked for Channel 5 and received an Emmy for video production. John was currently employed by PPI in the marketing department as a videographer and photographer. He also had recently started his own video production company, with his wife, Rocket Turtle. John was united in marriage to Diana Cassaro on February 18, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
John was a faithful person and a very involved member of Living Word Fellowship. At the age of 18, had gone on a mission trip to Africa. He helped the church with technology and the Youth Group, where he was known as “King Ham and Cheese”. His faith and actions made it very evident that he lived his life for Jesus.
John passed away Monday, July 7, 2025 at the Pella Regional Health Center at the age of 33 years.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Betty Yearous and paternal grandparents, John and Jennie Provenzano.
Those left to honor John’s memory include his wife, Diana; parents, Roy and Barb Provenzano; sister and brother in-law, Sadie (Provenzano) and Mike Richmond; grandfather, Charles (Charlotte) Yearous; in-laws, Joe and Linda Cassaro and many aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life for John C. Provenzano, age 33 of Pella, will be held Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Living Word Fellowship in Knoxville. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the service time at the church. The family requests that all attendees wear something fun in John’s memory (vibrant Dixxon flannel, camp shirt, anything Ninja Turtles or Godzilla, etc). If you’re unable, please wear something green or vibrant.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date.
