Kathleen Ione Best was born August 24, 1951 in Glendale, California the daughter of David B. Dickerson and Gladys (Stevens) Dickerson.
She was raised in California before her family moved to Galveston, Texas where Kathleen graduated from high school. Kathleen worked most of her life as an administrative assistant for various companies in the Galveston area. On July 23, 1993 she was united in marriage to Don Best. In September of 1995 the couple moved to Attica, Iowa.
In her spare time, Kathleen enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family, whom she cherished.
Kathleen passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024 at Northern Mahaska Specialty Care in Oskaloosa at the age of 73 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, David L. Dickerson; son, Stanley Clarence Pickle, Jr. “Rusty” and sister-in-law, Mary Hess.
Those left to cherish Kathleen’s memory include her husband, Don; daughters: Barbara A. Pickle (Hannah Heacock) and Kristi E. Pickle; son, Jason A. Pickle; grandson, Steven J. Thompson; three step-children: Donovan, Donna and Terry; niece, Tracie L. Rusack and many other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network for pancreatic cancer research.
