MaryAnn McNeer-Finton was born February 17, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa the daughter of Edward Charles McNeer and Patricia Ann (Kramme) McNeer.

She was raised in Montezuma and Des Moines and graduated from Roosevelt High School. MaryAnn was a medical transcriptionist and secretary during her working career. MaryAnn was united in marriage to John Finton in 1981. She had lived in Des Moines, Alabama, and Booneville before moving to Knoxville 15 years ago. MaryAnn and her longtime companion, Kenneth Gray, were together many years in Knoxville. In her spare time, MaryAnn enjoyed watching sports, crime shows and crocheting. She also loved spending time with her dog.

MaryAnn passed away Friday, February 6, 2026 at the West Ridge Nursing & Rehab Center, in Knoxville, at the age of 78 years.

In addition to her parents, MaryAnn was preceded in death by her husband, John Earl Finton, brother, Paul McNeer; grandson, James Martinsen in 2019 and her companion, Kenneth Gray.

MaryAnn is survived by her children: Alexandra (Christian) McGinley-Littell and Keri (Ryan) Leigh Cooper; step-children: Sarah Gray, Scott (Jen) Gray and Tamara (Brian) Shearer; brother, Randy McNeer and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for MaryAnn Finton, age 78 of Knoxville, will be held Saturday, February 14, 2026 at the First Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Farrar Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Marion County Humane Society.
