Richard Eugene Rodda was born November 25, 1946 in Pleasantville, Iowa the son of Amos and Iva (Ball) Rodda.
He graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1965 and then enlisted in the United States Army. Richard served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1968. He then lived in Ames while attending college. Richard later took a job with GE Electric in Des Moines, and eventually went to work at John Deere in Ankeny. He retired at the age of 65. In 2003, Richard moved to Osceola to be near his daughter.
In his spare time, Richard enjoyed model railroads, collecting coins and playing games on his computer.
Richard passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at the Mercy Medical Center, in Des Moines, at the age of 68 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Derrick Alan Rodda and his sister, Carolyn Lucille Rodda.
Those left to cherish Richard’s memory include his daughter, Kimberly Shear (Jeff) of Osceola; four grandchildren: Jeffrey, Dylan, Brooke and Kaden Shear and many other family members and friends.

Graveside funeral services for Richard Rodda age 68 of Osceola will be held on Tuesday, August 11 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pleasantville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be left at BertrandFuneralHomes.com.
