Ronald Duane Johnson was born February 18, 1958 in Audubon, Iowa the son of Duane and Ramona (Bintner) Johnson.

Ron attended Carlisle High School where he was a standout on the wrestling team. Following graduation, Ron began his career as a heavy equipment operator with the Union Local 234. He was a very meticulous person and took great pride in doing the job right. On November 7, 1981 Ron was united in marriage to Brenda Lockey, and the couple made their home in the Melcher-Dallas/Pleasantville area.

In his spare time, Ron enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, gardening and mushroom hunting. He had won many awards in trail riding and mud-dragging and also loved water skiing. Ron was very mechanical and could fix anything - which he often did for himself and anyone that needed help.

Ron passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021 at MercyOne Medical Center, in Des Moines, at the age of 62 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Duane Johnson, and his brother, Pete Johnson.

Those left to cherish Ron's memory include his wife, Brenda; daughters: Nicole (Geoff) Jones and Stephanie Wild (Bobby Lange); grandchildren: Trenton Wild, Ryker Lange, Caylor Jones and Creyton Jones; mother, Ramona Johnson of St. Cloud, Florida; sister: Cindy (Bill) Tebbetts of Jacksonville, Florida; and his beloved dog Ruger and many many other family members and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at Mason Funeral Home in Pleasantville on Saturday, January 23, 2021 with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and a service following at 12:00 p.m. Ron has been cremated and burial will be held at a later date.
