Susanna Elaine Geery was born November 23, 1955 in Knoxville, Iowa the daughter of Edwin and Geraldine (Nichols) Geery.

Susanna was raised in Harvey, Iowa and attended Knoxville schools. Growing up, Susanna had a pony, named Penny, that she dearly loved. She and Penny had many adventures through the years. She had a gift for handwork and taught many girls to crochet. She also knitted baby blankets and booties for her church group as well as making scarfs and hats for family and friends. On of her favorite jobs was working with the residents at C.O.C. in Pella. Susanna was a devout Christian and loved bible study groups, especially at the First Baptist Church. She also enjoyed being outside and riding her bicycle.

Susanna passed away Monday, October 12, 2026 at Accura of Knoxville at the age of 70 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Gerry and siblings: Gerald in infancy, Darroll Geery, Edwin Geery, Jr. and Karen Wardenburg.

Those left to cherish Susanna’s memory include her children, Cassandra Johannes and Joshua Johannes; 2 grandchildren, Draven Johannes and Skyler Jennings; siblings: Henry (Pat) Geery, Alan Geery, Clint (Ronda) Geery, Joyce VanderWerff and Alicia Dale and many other family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation or to the Stead Children’s Hospital at the University of Iowa.
