Vicky Dorene Test was born December 18, 1951 in Omaha, Nebraska.

She was raised in Omaha until her family moved to Pershing, Iowa during Vicky’s teen years. As a young woman, Vicky lived in California for a few years before returning to Pershing. Vicky then began her nursing career at the Knoxville V.A. Medical Center. As a born caregiver, Vicky was perfectly suited to her job. She held different positions at the V.A. until her retirement in 2007.

Vicky adored her family. She loved all family get togethers, but Christmas was by far and away her favorite. Vicky made the entire holiday season a loving and memorable event for her husband, children, and grandchildren. When Vicky wasn’t with her family, she enjoyed watching movies and YouTube videos.

Vicky passed away Thursday, April 23, 2026 at MercyOne Medical Center, in Des Moines, at the age of 74 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Randy Test; mother, Treva (Kridelbaugh); sisters: Alicia Minard and Crystal Cochrane; brothers: Bob and Don Blevins; grandparents: Vern and Alice Kridelbaugh and brother-in-law, Rick Test.

Those left to cherish Vicky’s memory include her children: Michele Laxson and her children: Blade, Coltin, Ashtin and Dawson; son, Lee (Kristi) Francis and their children: Randy (Sarah), Taelor (Jerry) Goemaat and Jenna (Kolby) Micetich ; 5 great-grandchildren: Audra, Archie, Emersyn, Cooper and Annistyn; siblings: Nancy (Chad) Kinion, Tina Geery and Cindy Blevins, and in-laws: Sue Test and Rosie (Roy) Roland and many other family members and friends.
